  Optic neuritis is the inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause a complete or partial loss of vision. People who suffered optic neuritis often occur sudden loss of vision (partial or complete), sudden blurred or "foggy" vision, and pain on movement of the affected eye. And it is commonly due to infections , ocular herpes, other viral infections, sinusitis and nutritional deficiency. Toxins, including alcohol and tobacco are also causes of optic neuritis. So it is possible that optic neuritis can be contagious.

  It is so bad that your friends get optic neuritis. The optic neuritis is not contagious. Optic neuritis refers to the optic nerve inflammatory demyelinating infection nonspecific inflammation disease because of the pathological changes of different parts of the damage which can be divided into the ball inside. It depends on the nipple inflammation and the ball in the back of the plane after the ball optic neuritis. The optic neuritis is mostly for the unilateral, depending on the nipple inflammation in children. The ball after optic neuritis is more common in young and middle-aged people. Optic nerve inflammation or optic disk inflammation refers to any part of the optic nerve inflammation of the lining. The clinical disease according to different parts of the optic nerve inflammation is divided into the ball inside the ball and outside the ball. The former one refers to optic disk inflammation, while the latter refers to the ball after optic neuritis. There are three basic phenomenon. The first one is decreased visual acuity. The second one is the change of field of view. The third one is the pupil change. The vision will be completely lost. The pupil direct reaction to light missing such as vision serious decline, pupil direct reaction to light is abate, continuous illumination.
