Yes, using too much computer will cause your eyes problems, including macular degeneration because of the electric radiation. For example, it will make your eye sight become worse. It will also make your eyes get blurry. You should not use your eyes too much time in front of computers and have the good rest for your eyes first.

Macular degeneration refers to the deterioration or breakdown of macula which is a very small part of retina in eyes. Although macula is a very small part, it is extremely sensitive to details and it is responsible for the central vision. Normally it started with one eye, so people won't notice it until the central vision obviously dimished. I don't think too much computer will lead to macular degeneration. It is more often related with aging. The caused of macular degeneration include drusen under the retina and abonormal blood vessels growing under retina. Don't worry too much about it. You can go to hospital to ask help from an eye specialist. Patients with advanced macular degeneration cam still see with the side, peripheral vision, although the image might be blurry or distorted,

Too much computer use may without proper care and rest can result in eye strain which worsen the myopia. Heavy prescription of myopia has high risk of developing macular degeneration. If you are nearsighted, much computer use can cause macular degeneration. If your vision is normal, you have fewer risks. Treatments for macular degeneration: In early stage, you need to take in carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin which will be prescribed by the doctor through drugs. You can also add food containing these elements to your diet. When the situation gets worse, you can have injection of Antiangiogenics or anti-VEGF agents which can reduce the proliferation of abnormal blood vessels in the retina.

In fact, Macular degeneration is main caused by age, usually happen to people who over 65 years old. Maybe too much computer use can increase the risk of macular degeneration. But I don't think computer use is the main reason for macular degeneration. Besides, it has been fond that certain drugs can also lead to macular degeneration. And gene can also increase the risk of macular degeneration. So, just keep healthy life style. It can help you to prevent macular degeneration.

As long as you give proper care, attention and rest to your eyes, the chances are less. But it is true that using too much computer can harm your eyes adversely. Take care of your eyes and go for regular eye checkups. Use spectacles if you have been advised to do so. Evergreen Eye Care in Vancouver is where I go to get my eyes checked. They do a wonderful job in helping me have a better vision.
