Do I need a special prescription to get computer glasses?

I have a regular prescription for glasses which I haven't gotten made yet. It's actually a few months old, I just didn't have the money to invest and was using my old glasses. Now, with my old glasses I am having to strain when i look at the computer. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to computer glasses. Do I need a different prescription to get computer glasses or can I use the prescription I have and tell Lenscrafters to make them computer glasses?

Well, usually Computer screens are positioned 20 to 26 inches from the user's eyes. This distance is closer than driving vision, but farther away than reading vision. So you should update your prescription to buy a pair of Computer Glasses.

  • if your prescription is the newest and less than half a year ,you don't need a different prescription . You feel strain when you look at the computer wearing the old glasses cuz the distance when we see the computer and far is different ,which means the focus change .so your eyes have to adjust to that distance . you can use the prescription and tell your opticians to make computer glasses for you . if your prescription changes , it is better to have an eye exam .

I think you'd better get a new prescription. A accurate prescription is quite important. The newest one is better. Prescription computer glasses will help you make you see clearly and protect your eyes. For the sake of your eyes, go and get your newest prescription.

Dude, you can have a look at walmart vision center. I heard that people can get some free eye exams there. So you can have a try. This can help save your money. Then you can order a pair of Prescription Computer Glasses from any online optical stores. The glasses sold online are much cheaper than that sold in any physical shops. Hope this helped!

Maybe you may need to have an eye exam first. You just said that you have to strain when you look at the computer. So I think your old prescription is not suitable for correcting your vision problem anymore. Though it is said that the glasses sold by walmart or lenscrafters are very cheap, I still can't afford to buy a pair of good glasses from them. So I also buy a pair of glasses online. They are affordable.
