Glaucoma is a kind of eye disease which can lead to damage to the optic nerves of eyes which transmits images to the brain and that will get worse over time in people's life. Glaucoma is often associated with a buildup of pressure inside the eye which is called intraocular pressure that can damage the optic nerve. If damage to the optic nerve from high eye pressure continues, glaucoma will cause permanent loss of vision. Glaucoma tends to be inherited and may not show up until later in life. There are many symptoms of glaucoma such as seeing halos around lights, getting vision loss, seeing redness in the eyes, eyes that looks hazy which happens particularly in infants, nausea or vomiting, pain in the eye, narrowing of vision, i.e., tunnel vision. Should people have any of the above symptoms, they have to seek immediate medical care. Itchy eyes can be caused by overuse of eyes, eyes laking water, not doing good eye hygiene, getting infected, and so on. It might as well be one of symptoms or complications of glaucoma. If so, you had better go to the doctor's for an eye examination.
