I suggest you contact your health care provider or an eye doctor for an thorough examination of your eyes immediately so as to receive correspondent treatment to prevent further damage to your eyes. Causes of sore eyes include conjunctivitis, dry eyes, allergies, and excessive strain. In the case of conjunctivitis, you can ask your doctor to prescribe medication to help relieve the pain in the eye. As for the dry eyes, you can drip over-the-counter eye drops or artificial tears to provide lubrication or rinse the eyes with water or milk. Avoid dry and dusty environments as much as possible. If you get sore eyes due to exposure to pollen, pollution, dust and other irritants, avoid these allergies and apply cool compresses to your eyes to help relieve such discomfort. If you strain your eyes so that they are sore, you need to have a good rest and increase your intake of omega-3s, vitamin A and liquids such as parsley, spinach or carrot juice to provide your eyes with necessary nutrients in your daily life. Do not rub your eyes.

Generally speaking, sore eyes can be caused by overuse of the eyes without any rest, staying in dry environment for too long, malnutrition in the eyes, physical irritations, and so on. To reduce or avoid the sore eyes, first of all, you had better pay attention to your use of the eyes. Try to develop good habits in using eyes, such as take a break every hour to watch distant objects or do eye exercises, Do not stay before the computer or TV for too long a time. Secondly, you should avoid getting touch with pollution sources such as fluorescent radiation and waste gas in case of irritation. Besides, the best prevention is to keep the eyes clean and moist, and applying eye drops and eye cream is a good choice. In addition, pay attention to your dietary pattern, take in much vitamin A, C, E and D is good for your eyes, too, such as seafoods, vegetables, fruits, cod-liver oil and so on. And remember never rub your eyes with your fingers when you feel sore eyes, because rubbing will make the condition even worse and is likely to scratch your cornea.

Your sore eyes must be caused by the eyes infection. You could use the eye drops with anti-inflammation to release the symptom of your sore eyes. You could also use the clean cloth and hot water to do the warm compress to make your sore eyes get comfortable. You should also have the good rest for the eyes which will make your sore eyes get released.
