Yes, if people frequently wear the eyelash extensions for too long a time, their own eyelashes will certainly get damaged to some extent. This is because that wearing eyelash extensions for a long time every day can reduce the cleanliness of the real eyelashe, Each of the real eyelash is rooted in the hair follicle which is the passageway for the skin to discharge the foreign matters. Besides, there are many sweat glands and sebaceous glands at the root of the eyelashes. Therefore, if people usually wear eyelash extensions for a long time, their sweat pores will easily be blocked off by the eyelash extensions, thus hindering the sweat pores from normal perspiration. Then there will be some eye problems coming along, such as conjunctivitis, eyelid swelling, eyelashes falling off in a large amount, and so on. Therefore, people had better not wear eyelash extensions every day. Instead, allow the eyes to have rest by only wearing them three to four times a week. In addition, when wearing the eyelash extensions, people should use professional quality eyelash glue. And the eyelash extensions should be put on and taken off in the right way. Then the harm and side effects of eyelash extensions can be reduced to the least.

It is true that eyelash extension has some side effects on eyes, skin and eyelashes. There is report indicating that eyelash extension will cause eye injury, and people should consider this fact when they have their eyelash extension done. The glue and tweezers that directly touch the eyelashes will lead to eye irritation and soreness, which will in turn result in severe eye infection. There is also evidence showing that fake eyelashes are heaven for bacteria and viruses which will cause conjunctivitis if they enter the eyes. For people with sensitive skin, a rash or irritation of the skin can be caused by the glue used to attach the eyelash extension. If eyelash extension is worn in long term, it will damage natural eyelashes because it brings too much follicle tension on natural eyelashes. As the result, the wearer will suffer from eyelash loss, which is also called traction alopecia.
