Chalazion and hordeolum are all problems that happen to the eyelids that cause red and swollen eyelids. But chalazion is caused by inflammation of a blocked meibomian gland. But hordeolum is an infection of the sebaceous glands of Zeis at the base of the eyelashes. Besides, Chalazia differ from hordeolum. Because they are painless nodules. Besides, chalazia usually point inside the lid rather than on the lid margin.

In most cases, chalazion can be mistaken as a stye that easily. That is because it usually appears a lump on ur eyelid and that is why sometimes people themselves even don't know that they get chalazion.I have to tell u that if u don't care for ur chalazion well,it will be very possible that u will get hordeolum. But I think u might as well remove this by a surgery or by some useful treatments, what do u think?
