To shield eyes from sunshine and UV rays, it is necessary to wear sunglasses after cataract surgery. It is said, after the surgery, the eyes should avoid strong light at least one month. Some of them every takes half a year to recover their eyes. So, if you just done cataracts surgery, you shall take good care of your eyes and shield your eyes with sunglasses from sunshine.

It should depend on what type of surgery you have. If you are meaning the lasik surgery , it is highly recommended that you wear sunglasses for at least one month .And it is quite essential to get a pair of dark sunglasses with 100%UV protection as your eyes are quite fragile and sensitive to the light . It is better for you to take off the sunglasses until your doctor say your eyes are in good condition .

Well, generally speaking, a cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye, which can eventually block the central line of sight and impairs vision. And if there are some problems occur on it, you should take cataract surgery to heal it. So we can say that cataract surgery is an operation to remove the clouded lens. And after the surgery, your eyes will be sensitive and fragile. So doctor may suggest you wear a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes when you go outside. And in common, sunglasses should be worn about 3 weeks. Also, you need to pay more attention to eye infection, which can just slow down the recovery process.
