How to reduce the visual effects in lenses of a high astigmatism?

I have astigmatism of -4.00 OU.There are always some shrinking effect when looking through the edge of the lenses.Is there anyway to reduce the effects except for polishing edges?

    1. Minimize the vertex distance. 2. Increase the base (front) curve. 3. Choose the smallest frame possible that fits comfortably. 4. Reduce the visibility of the edges by decreasing thickness (using high-index or rolled edges) or by applying edge treatments (such as light tints or edge polishing).

    You can choose the proper frame with small size, which will help you reduce the visual effect of the lens with a high astigmatism.
