What should I pay attention to when using eye drops?

I just got OTC eye drops from the store and I want to know there is anything I should be much careful with?

    When you are using eye drops, you should wash your hands before and after putting the drops in. Make sure the dropper or tube is clean and does not touch the eye, eyelid, lashes, or any surface. If you have an eye infection, do not wear contact lenses while you are using eyedrops unless your doctor has told you it is okay.

    Make sure your eyes won't be allergic to the eye drops that you are using. Then remember not to let the dropper touch your eye, or your eyes will get infected.
