Why do Allergies always Make Eyes Red?

My eyes got allergies yesterday and they are extremly red now. They looks really terrible. Why do they always turn red when getting allergies?

    Eye allergies happen when your eyes are exposed to the offending allergen -- say pet dander or pollen. Cells in your eyes called mast cells release histamine and other chemicals, causing inflammation. The result: itchy, red, and watery allergic eyes.

    When your eyes get allergies, cells in your eyes will release histamine and other chemicals which cause your eye inflammation. As a result, you get itchy, red, and watery allergic eyes.
