Is it possible to repolish full frame glasses?

I found there is a line around my full frame glasses and I want to repolish them. But the staff in optical store said only half-rimless or rimless glasses can be repolished. Why?

Full frame glasses cannot be repolished. Because the lenses fit the frame properly when you get them. If you have them repolished, there will be gap between them so that your lens can fall out easily.

If the lenses are repolished, they may no longer fit your current frame size and can fall out easily. But it doesn't matter if the frame is rimless or half-rimless.
