Do you know the difference between clip-on sunglasses and prescription sunglasses?

I have a pair of prescription eyeglasses and I want to get a pair of sunglasses in this summer. However, I think it is inconvenient to exchange for glasses frequently. So I want to know the difference between prescription sunglasses and clip-on sunglasses.

Clip-on sunglasses can be used both indoors and outdoors, so it is more convenient than prescription sunglasses. However, the clip on sunglasses are heavier than prescription ones as it has additional clip ons over the prescription eyeglasses. While the prescription sunglasses are much lighter than clip on sunglasses.

clip on sunglasses consists of two parts, namely a common pair of prescription sunglasses and a pair of clip ons without prescriptions. Such sunglasses can be used both indoors and outdoors. When you go outside, you can turn down the clip ons to protect your eyes from the sunlight and UV ray; when you come back indoors, you can turn up the clip ons and see objects through the prescription eyeglasses lens. The prescription sunglasses have the same appearances with the common sunglasses but the lenses of former are with prescriptions which the latter are absent of. Usually people don't wear prescription sunglasses indoors.

Clip on sunglasses are quite special that they are placed over prescription eyeglasses in order to block the glare of the sunlight. Using sunglass clip ons, it is unnecessary to remove the eyeglasses. I think clip-on sunglasses are more convenient. If you wear prescription sunglasses, you have also to get a pair of prescription eyeglasses when you are indoors.
