What is the recovery time for corneal transplant?

I am not meaning the time for healing completely and to see sight improvement, I just want to know how long is it after the transplant until someone can go back to work?

When you are able to return to work depends on the type of work you are doing, your comfort level and how well you see out of the operated eye. Someone who sees well in the unoperated eye and who has a desk job may go back to work in two to three weeks. A person who does not see well out of either eye and who has a hazardous job may be out of work for several months. The main thing is to observe the “no heavy lifting, bending, or straining” rule. Therefore, the time out of work depends on the individual patient’s situation.

Most patients can go back to work in one week after corneal transplant but it can still vary depending on different eye conditions and what kind of job you are up to. But the total recovery time for a corneal transplant can be up to a year or longer.

You can go back to work or drive within two weeks. Usually several days later you can go for driving and reading and work. Your vision will start to improve one month after the corneal transplant.

That depends on your own condition, like your type of work, how well you see with your operated eye. Some people can go back to work in two or three weeks, while some other people may go to work several months later. So you'd better talk with your doctor about this and he will give you some suggestions.
