Yes, but not so much as most people would notice. Pupil dilation where the pupils, the dark portion at the center of the eyes, get bigger occurs naturally in low light, so that more light can reach the retina at the back of the eye. Alcohol artificially dilates the pupils consistent with the amount of alcohol in the person's bloodstream. Other recreational drugs, such as marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and LSD cause more profound dilation, so much that pupil dilation is a valuable diagnostic indicator of intoxication with these drugs.

If you drink alcohol properly, it tend to have a calming effect on the body. But if you chronic drink alcohol or drinking too much alcohol, it will cause the stimulation of your body chemicals and hormones because of the increasing adrenaline flow. And that will cause the dilation of your pupils. Aside from alcohol, other recreational drugs like marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine also cause more profound dilation.

Maybe. Whether alcohol cause dilated pupils just depends on the amount of alcohol you drink. If you drink alcohol with mild to moderate amount, it just give a calming effect on the body. However, people who drink alcohol heavily or just have it with chronic use, it can stimulate the chemicals and hormones of your body due to the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream. That's why alcohol can cause dilated pupils.
