There are several types of cataracts, Age-related Cataract, Secondary Cataracts ,Traumatic Cataract, Congenital Cataract and Radiation Cataract. Age related cataracts are more common in old people. Age-related cataracts usually develop from protein clumpings. The lens consists mostly of water and protein. When the protein clumps up, it clouds the lens and reduces the light that reaches the retina. The clouding may become severe enough to cause blurred vision over time.
