Studies have indicated that Orthokertalogy lenses may be a viable myopia treatment option to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children.Otherwise known as nearsightedness or shortsightedness, myopia is a condition in which your near vision is clear but distant objects appear blurred to an uncorrected eye. This is due to the eyeball elongating as we grow during early adolescence. The result is a mismatch between the length of the eye and its optical power causing light entering the eye to focus in front of the retina rather than directly on it.

Using iSee Ortho-k corneal reshaping lenses to gently reshape the cornea re-aligns the optical focal point onto the retina allowing patients with prescriptions as high as -10.50 to see clearly all day. Although the use of iSee Ortho-k corneal refractive therapy lenses are not FDA approved for myopia progression control, there are many studies that suggest that Ortho-k therapy may reduce the progression of myopia(nearsightedness) in many children and adolescent Ortho-k therapy patients. In addition to Ortho-K corneal reshaping lenses providing nearly immediate results in correcting myopia, several studies also indicate that Ortho-K corneal refractive therapy lenses may help prevent myopia from worsening significantly in future.

Traditionally, glasses and conventional daytime contact lenses have been prescribed to correct temporarily myopia. However, for children, and many young adults, this correction does not prevent their myopia from worsening over time thus requiring stronger prescription lenses to achieve the necessary level of correction.Visit http://www.isee.com/ for more information on iSee ortho-k lenses.

Nearsightedness or myopia is the most common cause of blurred vision, which occurs when you couldn't see nearby objects clearly. But it's not considered as an eye disorder. There are many natural ways to treat nearsightedness without side effect. Firstly, you should take a short break after reading or watching objects for a long period. And you should be mindful of the distance between your eyes and the object. On the other side, you can consume some vitamin, especially the eye-healthy vitamin, such as vitamin A, vitamin E. You don't need to consume them by vegetables and fruit instead of medicine. Or you can consult the eye doctor to get more professional suggestions based on your own situation.

According to doctor's suggestions, there are many things we can do. For example, you should try not to read for extreme lengths of time. Consuming lots of eye-healthy vitamins is also very helpful. Doing your reading or focusing in a well-lit room will well for your eyes. on the other side, if you have a problem or pain in your eyes , you'd better go to the hospital first ,only in that way can you make sure if your eyes have a disease or not.

Prevention is very important. An effective prevention. 1 The position of Reading and writing must be right, the correct distance between eyes and book is about 35 cm, the distance of the eye with the TV screen is 3 meters away. 2 You must have a proper rest after reading for an hour you need to overlook for a few minutes that can effectively eliminate eye fatigue. 3 Do eye exercises seriously. 4 You can not read in the direct light place or dark light place. 5 Do not lie down or walk while you are reading a book.

Assume that a child has just begun to become nearsighted. This means that the ciliary muscle spasm, which has been useful in reducing the infantile farsightedness to zero, is now threatening to cause the eye to continue to elongate and become permanently myopic. The most natural way to relax the spasm, return the vision to normal, and prevent overelongation is to have the child give up all close work and take up activities which only require distance vision. This prescription, since it would mean not going to school and not learning to read, is clearly impractical in our modern society. Other methods must be found that will "fool" the eyes so that the close work can be done with the eyes focused for distance.
