The main purpose of wearing sunglasses for lots of people is to shield eyes from strong sunshine and UV light. Besides, the UV rays that carries in sun is very harmful to our eyes. Long time expose in sunshine can even cause cataract. So, it is very important to buy sunglasses that provide UV protection. But not all sunglasses have UV protection, some of them are just made of colored lenses. So, you shall be careful when you are buying sunglasses.

Of course, the UV protection is regarded as one important index for the sunglasses. UV is abbreviated for the ultraviolet rays which is a period of electromagnetic radiation. It has great harm on the people's skins. Thus, a lot of people choose to wear the sunglasses to avoid such damage on the eyes from the sunshine with high intensity. And what makes the sunglasses differ in price is of course the quality of UV protection.

No matter how sunny or cloudy the day is, we are exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun every day. Most people don't realize the UV radiation because it's invisible to our eye vision. However, it would damage our skin as well as eyes. So the most important factor of a pair of sunglasses is the UV protection. Because unprotected exposure under sun for a prolonged period would cause photokeratitis, it would appear in our eyes as well. It can be quite painful and become redness, tearing in the eyes.

Yes, of course. It is very important for sunglasses having UV protection. Because UV radiation from the sun can damage not only the skin of your eyelid but also the cornea, lenses and other parts of the eye. UV exposure also contributes to the development of certain types of cataracts. On the other hand, you should know that not all sunglasses have UV protection. There are also some types of sunglasses which don't have been designed with UV protection. So it all depends on your own needs and your choice. But in my opinion, considering the health of your skin, you'd better choose a pair of sunglasses with UV protection.
