The eye glasses' lenses are easy to be dirty, so it must be clean frequently. However, the different material of lenses should be used in different methods. 1. The glass one, this one you could use soft cloth or facial tissue to rub, even use toothpaste to wash, then absorb the water with cloth. 2. The resin lenses, you must wash it with water then softly absorb the water with cloth or dry in shade. Make sure not to strongly rub or it will be easy to scratch. If it's dirty with oil, the liquid detergent would be put to use. 3. Coating film glasses, this kind of lenses can not be touched by organic solvent or hard objects to protect the coating. This kind of glasses you can use liquid soap to clean, and absorb the water with fiber cloth. To the summary, the latter two kinds of glasses, you'd better not to adopt toothpaste just because the toothpaste has granule scrubs, and it's likely to damage your lenses.

Yes, you can do that. Firstly, you should hold your eyeglasses frame, and rinse both side of your eyeglass lenses with tap water. It can remove dust and other tiny objects on the lenses. Next, you should rub the toothpaste on the inner and outer surfaces of lens with a microfiber cloth for 10 seconds. Be aware that you use regular toothpaste instead of whitening toothpaste because it has low abrasives. In the following, you can clean the toothpaste with warm water, and dry the lenses with eyeglasses cloth. In the end, you can check whether the eyeglasses are clear, otherwise, you can repeat the steps to clean them.

In my own opinion, using toothpaste to clean eyeglasses may scratch the resin lenses. As we know, the hairbrush of the toothpaste is rough which may cause a lot of friction between the lenses and the brushes. And some people are sensitive to the toothpaste. Thus, it is not a good idea to clean eyeglasses with toothpaste.
