Well, as a matter of fact, there are indeed some similarities between a red eye and a common cold. For example, they both lead to some bloody fiber in your eyes. However, a pink eye will make your eyes even worse and itchy feelings arise. Generally speaking, a common cold would not lead to a pink eye, unless the situation continue to grow worse. You should take some pills and more hot water.

The pink eyes, also named acute conjunctivitis. The most common pathogenic bacteria are pneumonia bi-coccus, kochweeks bacillus, prevalent influenza bacillus, staphylococcus aureus and streptococcus. The last two bacteria could parasitize the conjunctiva pocket and will not cause conjunctivitis, but when one catches a cold and resistance power reduces, they could give rise to the acute conjunctivitis. However, when one gets cold, he may get inflamed, which also can cause the amount of the eye secretion increases, so it may not be pink eyes. You can cross reference the following symptoms of pink eyes. Usually, eyes manifest themselves one after another, in the early period, patients feel eyes burning, cauterization, photophoby, and pain as if sands rolling in them. Then the eyelid becomes red and swollen, eye gum increases, fear the light, and often burst into tears. If necessary, you had better go to see an ophthalmological doctor.
