Have you done concentrated task? Or have you spent too much time on computers or TV? If so, you are likely to get blurred vision when looking far. Under such circumstances, you should take regular breaks and try to blink often. You also need to be alert that blurred vision can be caused by dry eyes, cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, near sightedness, presbyopia or refractive error. I suggest you going to hospital for an overall examination.

I am afraid that it is not that normal to get blurred vision when looking afar. You may probably have suffered from myopia. Myopia is the most reason for blurred vision when looking afar. You will find objects in the distance blurrier and you can feel headache if you try to see clearly what the things are afar. Do not worry about it too much because myopia is just a common variation from normal vision but not a serious eye problem. Wearing prescription glasses for myopia will ensure you a clearer eyesight. And you can also relieve and reduce the degree of your myopia by protecting your eyes more in the daily life, say, spending less time in watching TV or playing computer games.

Whether it is normal or not, it depends on how far you are talking about. Firstly I would like to introduce what is the so called normal vision. When our eyes are kept still, the light of same height coming from some source 5 meters away travels through the curvature of lens and gets focused on retina and provides a clear and sharp image. This is the so called normal vision. If with the same condition yet the image you got is blurry, then you might have some vision problem. But as you know, there are too many people who have vision problem, such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. These vision problems are very common, and you can get the vision corrected with a pair of suitable glasses. It is not a big deal. Visit your optometrist and get a pair of glasses prescribed. If you are OK with wearing contact lenses, you can try. After wearing the contact lenses, you might get the feeling that there is no vision problem at all.
