My first appointment was 3/5/11. I paid full price for gas-perm lenses. By DECEMBER and around 15 trips later it was determined that Dr. Waclawski was unable to fit me. I ended up with soft lenses. The kicker was he charged me another $100 fitting fee because the first $100 I paid was in March when this whole process began and a fitting is only good for 6 months. I spent months driving back and forth to his office while he tried to fit me...apparently it was my fault that he was unsuccessful and I was charged another $100 for it. Since this whole process took almost a year and it is now 2012 my insurance would have covered the cost of my contacts if they would have given me back the money ($410) I spent in March 2011 for contacts I paid for and never received...

So many complaints... & not enough room here.
Undertrained sales Sales staff did 80% of eye exam, the doctor spent less than 5-8 minutes examining me.
They did get my perscription wrong the 1st time glasses were presented to me.
Sales staff was very high pressure, mostly to Up-selling me into expensive Lense coatings, scratch resistance, & insurance coverage.>without providing me a written description or limits of it. Sales Staff was incompetent in their computer ordering system, the girl had to interrupt my exam time, with going to ask management how to do her job. the Store personnel in general did not know their frames selections & materials. And Store Management Lied to covered up the problems....

  • Ophthalmoscopy is done as part of a routine physical or complete eye examination. It is used to detect and evaluate symptoms of retinal detachment or eye diseases such as glaucoma. In patients with headaches, the finding of swollen optic discs, or papilledema, on ophthalmoscopy is a key sign, as this indicates raised intracranial pressure (ICP) which could be due to hydrocephalus, benign intracranial hypertension (aka pseudotumor cerebri) or brain tumor, amongst other conditions. Cupped optic discs are seen in glaucoma. In patients with diabetes mellitus, regular ophthalmoscopic eye examinations (once every 6 months to 1 year) are important to screen for diabetic retinopathy as visual loss due to diabetes can be prevented by retinal laser treatment if retinopathy is spotted early. • YES, it is just that type. Lenses for astigmatism ( toric lenses) are all like that. I think they are more easy to wear than regular soft contacts as they are harder in the middle part.

  • NO, contact lenses can come in different size. Usually contacts for astigmatism are larger than normal contacts. Also the thickness can be different to fit your eyes because people have different base curves.

  • It does feel uncomfortable when you first wear hard contacts. You can try to increase the wearing time like 15 or 30 mimutes or day by day, but don't make big jumps, then you should wear them longer.

  • Although extended contacts are designed for long time wearing, it is still not always safe to wear them. Extended contacts still need to be cleaned regularly and if not, the opportunity for growth of bacteria would increase, which can endanger the health of the eye.

  • Yes, color blind people can still see things at night. the lack of color vision should not effect the ability to see in the dark. But the world in their eyes is gray.

  • No, it is not like that. If people wearing glasses can't apply for vision insurance, there is no point for it. Vision insurance only covers the cost of an annual eye exam and glasses/contacts out over the course of a years premiums. They wont even ask you whats the problem with your eyes when you apply for it.
