About Dr Victor C LaCour,LLC
We provide complete eye exams and contact lenses. We take most insurances including BC/BC, Medicaid, Spectera, Southland National Ins, Davis Vision, Viva, EyeMed, and others.. Appointments are available Mon thru Sat 9am to 5:00pm and Walk-ins are welcome also. Our prices are very competative. Our office is located within EyeMart Express and they provide glasses at a reasonable price in about an hour.

General Impression:
Dr LaCour is a very fine Doctor. I was very impressed with his professionalism and his astute care in ensuring perfection in my vision. He provided me with a lot of education and explained everything. He was very attentive and I was very well taken care of. Highly Recommended!

He provided me with a lot of education and explained things to me I needed to know and I would not have known to ask. He was very attentive and I was very well taken care of. Highly Recommended!

General Impression:
I have rarely seen such incompetence among professionals.
Dr Lecour spent time and explained what he was doing along the way however my contacts gave me problems from day one. I called back to see Dr Lecour and was told he was in. Upon returning to the office they could not locate my file. After eventually finding it I was then told Dr Lecour was not working and I could see Dr Miller. Dr Miller was so nonchalant and rude that another patient wished me luck (quite a contrast to Dr Lecour). I was rechecked and told new contacts were being ordered. After about two weeks, no word so I called. AGAIN they could find no file on me and kept me on hold for what seemed like forever. I hung up and called later. Still no file located. "Dr" Miller then told me to call back later. Since I had no idea when they would find it, I asked him to call me. When the office did call no one was able to tell me whether the new contacts had EVEN been ordered!
I am very disappointed and wasted time and money here - trying to save time and money. Dr Miller blamed everything on Dr Lecour. Bottom line is I paid for contacts that are wrong and still don't have the correct prescription. As explained by Eyemart Express, each office is independently operated, so they were of no help when I brought the matter to their attention.

General Impression:
I've never been to Eyemart Express in Trussville, AL, before until my mom handed me a 10% off coupon for a pair of eyeglasses for Eyemart Express. I simply made an appointment 2 days in advance and didn't make the appointment with any eye doctor in particular. Dr. LaCour was the only doctor working that day... so he's taking appointments first and walk-ins second. The office assistant was very nice. It seems Dr. LaCour really took his time with each patient. I arrived at 2:45 and my appointment was 3:30 so I think he finally came around to me around 3:45 I want to say. But that didn't matter since I was having insurance issues and the office assistant ran the basic tests first. Let me say that Dr. LaCour is the first eye doctor that really explained every detail to me about my vision including how to wear and clean contacts and how to put eye drops in your eye (I've worn contacts before a long time ago but only briefly for a few months because my eyes would itch... which Dr. LaCour explained what I could do to help that). DO NOT expect to see Dr. LaCour and make it a fast exam if you're in a hurry. He spent about 1 hour with me examining my eyes and going over the contact lens process. He even told me I have a slight astigmatism in my left eye which no other eye doctor told me about and I've been wearing glasses for about a decade and I'm 28. He seems a little hyper and will talk a lot... but I don't mind that as long as I'm not in a hurry. So, I finished up at the eye doctor around 5 PM after getting my prescription, contact lens, and paying my dues. You do the math. Overall, best eye doctor I've seen.

General Impression:
I saw Dr. La Cour at Eyemart and was not impressed. He seemed occupied with other thoughts and while he spent time with me, it was wasted time. He did not seem to know how to fit contact lenses and kept ordering me trial after trial for several months . I will not go back and do not recommend this place.

Can I go swimming after the lasik surgery?
No. You'd better not. Because your surgery has done at the cornea which will get infection if it don't have a good recovery. You should wait for at least 2 months after lasik surgery and then you can go swimming with goggles on.

Before puting eye drops, you should held your head up and place a towel along the side of your nose. After putting the eye drops, you should use one hand to press against the towel and then the towel will prevent the eye drops from coming down to your nose, mouth and then throat.

Before a routine exam, eye doctor may use eye drops to dilate your pupils so that he can look into your eyes easily. The eye doctor will use less dilation and milder drops so it is safe to your eyes.

You can use the artificial eye drops, like visine, which you can buy them at any pharmacy. Don't use it too much, or it will bring side effects. If it doesn't work, you can go to your doctor to have a check. The doctor will give you some treatments.

How to clean glasses with anti-reflection glasses?
First, rinse your glasses under warm, running water. Then apply a small amount of non-toxic, ammonia and alcohol-free cleaning solution to your hands. Next use your hands to rub the lenses for a while. Place your glasses aside and wash your hands clean under the water and dry them with a clean towel. Then rinse your glasses under the running water from both front and back of the lens. Finally rinse your glasses vertically from top of the frame and then use a clean cloth to absorb the water drop that flow down to the bottom of the lens.

What is the best eye drops to keep eyes moist?
You can use the artificial eye drops to keep your eyes moist. There are many brands that you can choose. I recomend several types, such as Visine, Refresh, Soothe and Systane. You can try any of them.

Can wear glasses more cause deeper degree?
No. As long as you choose the glasses in a regular optical shop and the glasses are suitable for you properly, they won't cause deeper degree. However, you must pay attention to the daily visual health and yould wear them often , then your prescription strength will be stable or even reduced.

I've never heard that cataract can be contagious. It is often caused by the age, gene and some other injuries to the eyes. So don't worry.
