In the Peoria, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. • Children are able to wear anti-glare glasses if they do need. However, the anti-glare coating may be easy to get damaged because children are too careful and can't take good care of them.

  • If you have a good habit of using eyes and keep a strong body,I think the worst prescription should be no more than -8.5.Ask your doctor for more suggestion to prevent your eyes from getting worse.

  • You may see better in the morning but the prescription will not change if you have eye exam in the evening.

  • Since you feel dizzy at closer objects with your original prescription, you should take your doctor's advice to wear a slightly weaker glasses which you can get used to quickly. Once my doctor suggested me wear weaker glasses that I can see more clearly than my original prescription. And I feel comfortable when I wear them all day now. So I think it is better to wear a slightly weaker glasses.

  • Legally blind has nothing to do with the prescription numbers. Legally blind means that your best vision cannot be corrected with glasses or contact lenses any better than 20/200. A normal person with 20/20 vision can see objects clearly that is 200 feet away from him, while the legally blind person can only see the object clearly that is 20 feet away from him. A legally blind person can't see objects clearly that is very far or close.

  • The custom RGP contact lenses can be made for degree as high as -20.00,but they are more thicker and expensive.

  • In my opinion, anti-glare glasses can be used for night driving because they can reduce nighttime distortions so as to provide a clear vision for drivers. However, the anti-glare coating will add the weight to the lenses especially for the high prescription lenses, so people will find uncomfortable to wear them all day.
