  Of course they are reliable.I got most of my glasses online,they are quite cheap and stylish.If you are lucky enough,you can get it for free if they are on sale.

• What can be used as an alternative to contact lens solution?

  You can use the saline as a replacement for temporary use. But you still need to soak it in the solution for one day to disinfect if you get new solution.

• Can eye doctor convert eyeglasses RX into Contacts RX?

  The power of contacts can be calculated from that of glasses.Here is a formula :Fo=Fs/(1-dFs).The Fo means your power of your contacts and Fs means the power of glasses.dFs means the distance between rear vertex of glasses and your cornea.Usually the dFs should be measured by meter and it is 0.012m for easterners.For example,the RX of glasses is -4.00,the dFs is 0.012m,we can know that your RX for contacts should be -3.82,but this result is not a regular RX,so we choose the proximal and a lower number , it should be -3.75 . Hope these can help. But even if you can make out the RX,you still need an eye exam for contacts.

  Of course they can .   Your glasses prescription may not be the same as your contact lens rx. Getting contacts is not just about getting the right prescription, it is important to get an eye exam as well in order to make sure that it fits. If a lens is not fitting properly on the eye it may cause discomfort and damage to the eye. Although it is a pain and cost some money, it is important to make sure you get fitted with in an examination.

• Where can I put new prescription lenses into my old eyeglass frames?

  Why don't you buy the clear glasses?They can be much cheaper than having the lenses made into the existing frames.
