In the Lone Tree, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. Ophthalmologist's responsibility is much beyond that of optometrist.

  • You can get LASIK surgery even if you have a Toric contacts prescription but the price is much higher than the regular one. You are not permitted to wear your contacts for a long time before the surgery cuz the toric contacts lenses are much thicker and can distort your cornea more than other contacts.

  • Your eyes will be numbed so that the whole process is not painful, and the whole process takes about 10 min. You can feel all what doctors do on your eyes and the wetness from the solution. Never be afraid of this, you may think all will be well after the limited 10 mins.

  • Don't worry about that, it can be simply removed. First, wash the eyeglasses lenses carefully with hot water and spread soap on it to remove any dirt or residue. Second, spray a wood-cleaning spray onto your eyegalsses lenses.Third, wipe off the wood-cleaning spray with an eyeglasses cloth or soft cloth. Eyeglasses cloth has special fibers that don’t further damage or scratch glasses, including glasses with plastic lenses.Forth, spray a small amount of petroleum jelly over each scratch. This will coat the scratches and fill in the crevices, making them less noticeable.Fifth, Wipe off the petroleum jelly with an eyeglasses cloth. If you still see scratches, repeat the five-step process again. If your scratches are particularly deep, you may have to get your lenses replaced. • If you are involved in activities and sports where trauma to the face and eyes is very likely, such as a professional fighter, then Lasik may not be appropriate because of the high probability that you will suffer blows to the eye. Even if a problem is unlikely, it seems prudent to consider Lasik alternatives such as PRK, LASEK, and Epi-Lasik. These techniques, commonly known as surface ablation, do not require the Lasik flap. The patient will have a much longer vision recovery and more discomfort, but laser vision correction without a flap is available.

  • After several years, you may be treated with another surgery due to overcorrection or undercorrection that you got during the first lasik surgery. There are also the risks of being blind and having night driving difficulties. However, the chance you get the risk of lasik surgery is less than 1%.

  • The prescription on the prescription glasses and the clear glasses makes the difference. The lenses for nearsighted people are thinner in the middle and thicker all around. But the lenses for farsighted people are thick in the middle and thinner all around. Some lenses for people who are slightly farsighted seemed to be alomst the same with non-prescription lenses.

  • Maybe it is not true. My dad had a surgery for 5 years and until now everything goes well, he has clear vision ,he don't have to wear his eyeglasses or any contacts, In fact, you should take care of your eyes after the surgery, pay special attention to the eye health cuz eyes are much easier infected before the surgery.Take a rest after long time of using eyes.

  • It is not recommended to use your eyes 24-48 hours after the surgery, cuz there is too much risks for infections or complications during these important peroids of time.I think his doctor has given him some notes & instructions after the surgery, he must do as the doctor adviced.
