The only real difference between Lasik and Lasek eye surgery is the way in which the eye is accessed during the procedure. A flap is created which essentially means a thin outer layer of your cornea is lifted away. Once the surgeon has applied the laser this flap is then replaced and left to heal. Once the laser has been applied this outer layer (epithelium) is replaced back and the eye is left to heal.
