  Laser surgery can't improve your vision to a satisfactory level if you have strong prescription. You can talk to your doctor and figure out other way to improve your vision.

  Yes, you can fix it by yourself with a repair kit which usually contains mini screwdrivers, screws, nose pads, small magnifying glass and a wipe cloth. You can buy it in an optical store. I have repaired many of my own glasses in this way.
