In the Bronxville, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. Ophthalmologist's responsibility is much beyond that of optometrist.

  • Yes, long-time wearing will definitely cause your eyes go out of shape. I have been wearing glasses for more than 14 years, and now my eyes are quite ugly. I even want to throw my glasses away, but i can't because i will be almost blind without them.

  • I've never heard that cataract can be contagious. It is often caused by the age, gene and some other injuries to the eyes. So don't worry.

  • No. You'd better not. Because your surgery has done at the cornea which will get infection if it don't have a good recovery. You should wait for at least 2 months after lasik surgery and then you can go swimming with goggles on.

  • Go to check with your eye doctor to determine what cause your red eye. If it is caused by dry eye, then you can use artificial eye drops to keep your eyes moist. If it is caused by your contacts, you should go to see your doctor.

  • Before a routine exam, eye doctor may use eye drops to dilate your pupils so that he can look into your eyes easily. The eye doctor will use less dilation and milder drops so it is safe to your eyes.

  • First, rinse your glasses under warm, running water. Then apply a small amount of non-toxic, ammonia and alcohol-free cleaning solution to your hands. Next use your hands to rub the lenses for a while. Place your glasses aside and wash your hands clean under the water and dry them with a clean towel. Then rinse your glasses under the running water from both front and back of the lens. Finally rinse your glasses vertically from top of the frame and then use a clean cloth to absorb the water drop that flow down to the bottom of the lens.

  • It will depend on which type of pink eye. If you get the viral one, then it takes a week or so to disappear. If you have the non viral one, it will take a day or two with eye drops.
