I cannot recommend Dr. Hicks. I paid an extra $60 to have a contact lens fitting in addition to my eye exam which was $90. I had problems with the contacts and asked to come back to diagnose the problem. She wanted to charge me another $35 to come in to be evaluated. After paying for a contact evaluation, I was not able to get any contacts unless I paid her more money. I told the office that I would find myself another Dr. if she was going to charge me again for service she did NOT provide the first time I paid. After checking around, there are many other vision centers that only charge $60-65 (opposed to $90) for an eye exam. I will be seeing another eye doctor in the future....

  • When you choose the vision insurance plan, you should take your personal eye care needs into count. You'd better choose the vision plan that can provide most related and satisfying services and products to you.

  • Maybe it does work for you. Eye patch can be especially useful for children and teenagers. If you are adults, eye patching is not going to help you very much. But you can still have a try.

  • Varifocals allow you to read and see in the distance at the same time. However, if you have no problem when you do some reading, then there is no need to get varifocals. You can take your current glasses off when you start to do the reading.

  • Some people are not suitable for OrthoK. For example, people who have very high levels of myopia or those who are farsighted may not be qualified for Ortho-K lens. So I don't think everyone can be suitable for OrthoK treatment.

  • It is a common problem. In most cases, eye floaters do not attract serious attention because everyone experiences them from time to time and no ill effects will be caused. In particular, eye floaters are the exact result while looking directly at a light background. They occur within the eyeball’s vitreous fluid and can not be removed simply by rubbing the front eye.

  • Focusing on something close for a long time will make your eye muscles contract. If you look at distance, your eye muscles need time to relax. So you will get blurry vision for a short time. Reading very close will make this problem more noticeable, so you'd better read further away at a sensible distance.

  • As long as you keep on doing eye palming everyday, you will get vision improvement sooner or later. Palming is a good exercise to relax your eyes. Doing eye palming can make your eyes healthy. Even if it cannot improve your vision, you can benefit more from it.

  • Wearing glasses won't make your vision worse. It is because you often overuse your eyes which make your eyes too tired. The excessive eye fatigue is the main reason that cause the vision become worse. So you should relax your eyes as often as possible even if you wear glasses.
