In the Mason, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. Ophthalmologist's responsibility is much beyond that of optometrist.

  • You should not try to rub your eyes hard if there are sands coming into them cuz you could scratch the corneal. Close your eyes and then half open them, repeat this for several times. Then the sands will come out with tears.

  • Maybe there is but it is hard to find. You can go to the drug store and ask.

  • You should choose the swimming pool with clean water and less pollution. Use some antibiotic eye drops before and after swimming. It is better to get a pair of swimming goggles to protect your eyes.

  • Both of them can give 100% UV protection. If you drive a lot, I would suggest you to get polarized lens. They can reduce reflective glare which photochromic does NOT. The photochromic lenses will start to fade in 2 years.
