In the Newark, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. • Personally speaking, I would not suggest people to wear contacts. There is a higher risk of getting infection than wearing glasses. But to your question, I think don't wear your contacts when you use the computer otherwise your eyes could get extremely dry and can even hurt.

  • You should choose the swimming pool with clean water and less pollution. Use some antibiotic eye drops before and after swimming. It is better to get a pair of swimming goggles to protect your eyes.

  • It should depend on which lens index you choose. If you choose the standard 1.5 index, of course your glasses will be very thick. But if you choose 1.67 index, it can be much thinner. But the thinner the lens is, the more expensive they are.

  • Both of them can give 100% UV protection. If you drive a lot, I would suggest you to get polarized lens. They can reduce reflective glare which photochromic does NOT. The photochromic lenses will start to fade in 2 years.

  • If the gradient color is in a coating, not in the lens, you may probably change the color. Try to take them to the optical store and ask. Maybe there are some chemical material that can remove it and make the lens retinted.
