  • Since you are over 40, you'd better have an eye exam every year though you have perfect vision. People who get old have more chance of suffering eye diseases. such as presbyopia, glaucoma and cataract. To keep your eyes healthy, you should have an eye exam at least once a year.

  • The floaters which indicate a serious condition usually can be differentiated by some important factors: 1. They occur suddenly 2.They are accompanied by visual field defects including flashes of light and areas of vision loss (as if a dark curtain is placed in front of the eyes) 3.They appear numerous or large 4.They are associated with a trauma or a blow to the eyes or head 5.They are increasing in number over a short period of time, often minutes or hours These signs and symptoms are considered ocular emergencies and require immediate medical attention.   • If people around you are having pink eyes and you get in touch with something they have used,it is possibly you are having pink eye.You'd better visit your doctor and have a check.

  • I think the UV coating is not as effective as sunglasses.As the lens is clear ,they can't block the 100% lights as the tinted lenses do.

  • Lights should not be too light or dim,otherwise they can cause eye strain easily.The incandescent lights are better for your eyes.

  • I know that toric lenses have two powers that can used for astigmatism and myopia or hyperopia. Since you only have astigmatism, a spherical soft lens will suit you fine.

  • The dark spot may be blood in the eye. The urgent thing is to see a doctor to find out the problem.

  • For people with astigmatism,they can't see both near and distant without squinting.They have difficulty focusing on printed words and lines.Sometimes they may have eye strain or headaches.For your case,I think it is not astigmatism.It is common if you stare at something for a long time.
