In the Chester, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. Ophthalmologist's responsibility is much beyond that of optometrist.

  • I believe the biggest benifits is to correct your vision and you will never wear glasses or contacts. I spent $2300 on my lasik surgery and I used to spend $400 on my contact lenses and $300 eyeglasses each year. I don't have to spend much money on the glasses, Furthermore, it is more convenient, I can sleep 10 mins more in the moring which is used to wearing contacts lenses, lol.

  • Your eyes will be numbed so that the whole process is not painful, and the whole process takes about 10 min. You can feel all what doctors do on your eyes and the wetness from the solution. Never be afraid of this, you may think all will be well after the limited 10 mins.

  • The recovery time differs from different people. Ones specific physical quality determined how and how quickly their eyes adjust to the changes made by the surgery. But if you cannot get 100% vision after 3 days, please go back to your doctor.

  • Maybe it is not true. My dad had a surgery for 5 years and until now everything goes well, he has clear vision ,he don't have to wear his eyeglasses or any contacts, In fact, you should take care of your eyes after the surgery, pay special attention to the eye health cuz eyes are much easier infected before the surgery.Take a rest after long time of using eyes.

  • The percentage of the failed surgery is below 5%. It depends on many factors, the medical machine used, the skills and experiences of the doctor, your eyes condition, the protection from your eyes with 24-48 hours after the surgery etc.

  • The only real difference between Lasik and Lasek eye surgery is the way in which the eye is accessed during the procedure. During the Lasik procedure it is your inner cornea that is lasered and the surgeon needs to lift off the top layer of tissue in order to access the correct part of your cornea. A flap is created which essentially means a thin outer layer of your cornea is lifted away. Once the surgeon has applied the laser this flap is then replaced and left to heal. With Lasek however there is no flap created. The surgeon merely loosens the top layer of your cornea and moves it to one side. Once the laser has been applied this outer layer (epithelium) is replaced back and the eye is left to heal.

  • If you are involved in activities and sports where trauma to the face and eyes is very likely, such as a professional fighter, then Lasik may not be appropriate because of the high probability that you will suffer blows to the eye. Even if a problem is unlikely, it seems prudent to consider Lasik alternatives such as PRK, LASEK, and Epi-Lasik. These techniques, commonly known as surface ablation, do not require the Lasik flap. The patient will have a much longer vision recovery and more discomfort, but laser vision correction without a flap is available.

  • It is not recommended to use your eyes 24-48 hours after the surgery, cuz there is too much risks for infections or complications during these important peroids of time.I think his doctor has given him some notes & instructions after the surgery, he must do as the doctor adviced.
