In the Monroe, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. Ophthalmologist's responsibility is much beyond that of optometrist.

  • It is quite normal.I have even seen a 10-year-old girl wear reading glasses.I think it is the genetic factor that cause children to have bad vision.

  • Apart from the drug store or a dollar store, most of the optical stores which have optometrists and labs always can make custom eye glasses. You can go there and the optometrist will give you an exam and measure your size, then they will make glasses according to your prescription and size. Or you can order them online as long as you provide your prescription and size. However, I think you'd better buy the frames together with lenses because putting your original lenses into the custom made frames is difficult and that glasses cannot meet your need. Hope helps you.

  • If you read for a long time and force your eyes to focus on the book , it may cause lack of oxygen to the brain and then you get a headache or feel dizzy . Also your eyes will feel strained and blurry . So it is better to get a pair of reading glasses to help you get the focus , then your eyes will feel relaxed as well as your head . Also taking eye exercise will be good for your eyes .

  • In theory, you can do it at any optical store. However, It really depends on your prescription power and the size of goggles. In fact, it is difficult to replace the lens into your original glasses rames because the glasses which have replaced the lenses usually can't fit your properly or the lens can't match thr frame properly. If you do need to replace the glasses lenses into your goggles, you have to take it to an optical place and let them actually see it.

  • Most of my glasses are got from Firmoo, and I don't have any unpleasant shopping experience so far. For new buyer, you can get any pair only paying the shipping cost.

  • Any opticl store that you go can make the customizd lenses into your frames. You can also take it back to Lenscrafters with your prescription .If you know prescription and size, you can choose the frames and the type of lenses online, then they will do the customized lenses for you and put the lenses into the frames properly.

  • As I don't know which city you live in, so I can't find the exact place that you may get your eyeglass frames. You can try this : http://www.firmoo.com/eyecare-directory/north-carolina You can get the information about what optical stores are there in your local places.Through there you can find the place where you want to go easily.

  • I think the free eye exam is true . Most companies would promote their products by offering free eye exam to attract customers . They can also provide the lenses and frames at the same time . But generally the lenses are poor in quality and easy to get scratched .I will suggest you go to Walmart .Wal-Mart will probably give you a good pair of frames and lenses that have Anti-reflective coatings and scratch coatings for under $100. The lenses will be much better quality and you will have a warranty.
