  • Yes you can.Take your glasses to nearby optical store and ask them to add the coating for you.But it may cost more to have the coating only.

  • I don't know how to remove the anti-glare coating from the glasses. You'd better take your glasses to your optician. Their lab will use a special acid to do that.

  • For me,I would pay the extra $5 to get an anti-glare coating. It can protect your eyes better, why not?

  • I think it is just a marketing method. I have never wear sunglasses or anti-glare glasses, but my eyes are still fine.Your eyes won't get harmed without the anti-glare coating.

  • Transition glasses can change color from clear to dark due to the exposure to the UV rays. When you go outside, it turn dark just like sunglasses. When you go indoors, it will turn clear just like regular glasses. Anti-glare glasses are used to reduce the glare from the surface like water, glass and snow. So it just depends on your purpose. If you want to wear your glasses all day, then you can choose transition glasses. If you just want to the glasses that can reduce the glare, then you should choose the anti-glare glasses.

  • The anti-glare coating can get scratched easily if you don't clear it properly. It is not recommended to use Windex, soap or something that are too strong to clean it.

  • If you pay enough care to it and don't make it scratched,it can last as long as many years. You should be especially careful when cleaning it.I have a pair of anti-glare glasses and they are in the third year now.

  • The anti-glare coating will allow more light to pass through the lens and less light to bounce off from the lens. It will make your lens invisible so that people can see your eyes clearly. And it will give you better vision of the images.
