In the Stevens Point, optometrists can be found in the vicinity of a chain optical retail store, or in an independent optometrist's office. Optometrists are trained to address both vision refractive errors and eye health. Many optometrists sell high-end eyeglasses and contact lenses in their practices with the most professional possible services in addition to performing eye exams and writing prescriptions. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) in the eye care and vision health who perform eye exams, write prescription for eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat eye diseases and carry out eye surgery. Ophthalmologist's responsibility is much beyond that of optometrist.

  • If you get lasik surgery before your vision be stable, your vision will continue to change even after the surgery. On that condition, you will have to wear glasses again, or do the lasik surgery again. If your cornea is thick enough, you can have the chance to do the lasik surgery, but if not, you don't have the chance, that is to say ,you have to wear glasses in your rest of life. Take a careful consideration before any lasik surgery.

  • Here are some datas for reference: Average LASIK costs were: $2,150 for all laser-based vision correction procedures (including LASIK) in which a single price is quoted. $1,580 for non-customized LASIK using a bladed instrument (microkeratome) and excimer lasers that are not guided by wavefront analysis. $2,170 for wavefront-guided LASIK using a laser-created flap.

  • If the hinge is stiff and hard to move , it is possibly because the screw is abraded and lose its flexibility. It is better for you to replace a new one. Remove the old screw with a thin-blade and insert a new one in the same size. Then tighten the screw until the frame is secure, but don't over tighten in case you could strip the screw.

  • Some of the insurance would cover the lasik surgery, but at present, most LASIK suegeries are not fully covered by any insurance. Ask your insurance company if it is available, if so, you should pay the full amount to the lasik ceter first and then they will give you a receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • It depends on many factors, the thickness of your cornea, your pupil size, the prescripotion of your eyes.

  • Maybe you should use some good-quality cosmetic which will stay firmly on your face no matter what happens .

  • The recovery time differs from different people. Ones specific physical quality determined how and how quickly their eyes adjust to the changes made by the surgery. But if you cannot get 100% vision after 3 days, please go back to your doctor.

  • The only real difference between Lasik and Lasek eye surgery is the way in which the eye is accessed during the procedure. During the Lasik procedure it is your inner cornea that is lasered and the surgeon needs to lift off the top layer of tissue in order to access the correct part of your cornea. A flap is created which essentially means a thin outer layer of your cornea is lifted away. Once the surgeon has applied the laser this flap is then replaced and left to heal. With Lasek however there is no flap created. The surgeon merely loosens the top layer of your cornea and moves it to one side. Once the laser has been applied this outer layer (epithelium) is replaced back and the eye is left to heal.
