Frame material
1. Traditional and modern plastics:
Traditional plastics include cellulose acetate, cellulose propionate and nylon. Memory plastic is a new form. All plastic frames are lightweight. But some of them are easier to break.
2. Traditional and modern metals:
Traditional metals that are widely used to produce eyeglass frames contain Monel, titanium, beryllium, stainless steel and aluminum. Memory metal is a modern metal. Metal frames are usually stronger than plastic ones.
3. Unusual materials:
Customers with distinctive tastes cay resort to frames made of buffalo horn, wood, bone, gold, silver, stones and leather.

Lens material
1. Glass:

Glass is the most traditional material used to make eyewear lenses. It is rarely used due to its excessive weight and thickness. High index glass comes as a successor.

2. Traditional and modern plastics:

Regular plastic lenses will be quite thick if the prescription is heavy. High index plastics can be 20% to 65% thinner than regular plastic lenses. Polycarbonate lenses are lightweight, durable, and impact-resistant.

Frame structure or style
1. Full frame:

This is the initial frame structure design that a full frame encircles the whole lenses.

2. Semi-rimless frame:

Only half of the lenses are encircled by frame rims.

3. Rimless frames:

This is the most modern frame design that the lenses are attached directly to the temples using tiny screws.

Frame color

A person's coloring is determined by skin tone, eye color and hair color. The criterion is that the frame color should repeat personal coloring.

1. Frame colors for people with a warm coloring:

They include camel, khaki, gold, copper, warm blue, blond tortoise, off-white, orange, peach and fire-engine red.

2. Frame colors for people with a cool coloring

They contain black, plum, blue-gray, rose-brown, jade, blue, pink magenta etc.

Frame shape

Like frame color, frame shape needs to be matched up similarly to a wearer's face shape. But the guideline is that the frame shape should contrast with the face shape. People's faces fall into mainly eight shapes, namely, round, oval, heart, square, diamond, oblong, base-down triangle, and base-up triangle. For individual eyewear buyers, it is advised to choose a frame that contrasts well facial features.

Lens color

Nowadays, prescription eyeglasses are also allowed to take use of tinted lenses. Related products are called prescription sunglasses or tinted eyeglasses. Feasible tinted lenses can be in orange, yellow, amber, rose, copper, green, gray etc. While trying to buy a pair of prescription sunglasses, it is important to consider the performance-enhancing features of each lens tint.

Other aspects:

1. Nose pad design: there are mainly adjustable nose pads and integrated nose pads. Plastic frames usually come together with integrated nose pads, and adjustable nose pads are usually equipped onto metal frames.

2. Additional frame decoration: some customers may get excited at the frames decorated with rhinestones, leather or even diamond.
