  • I never heard that the insurance has something to do with the eye doctor. You should go to ask your optician.

  • general vision insurance may provide specified dollar amounts or discounts for the purchase of eyeglasses and contact lenses . It will not appoint which brand frames you can buy and which you not .if the cost of the frame you choose exceed that certain amount ,you will pay yourself . I don't know much about the NC Health Choice , you can call them and ask .

  • The best way is to go to your policy website to find out what is covered. Most places give about a 25% discount up front , then you should send your receipts off for further reimbursement. You also can ask the optician about the insurance.

  • Generally VSP offers you a certain amout of money for the contact lens fitting and the boxes of contacts. The amount is usually between $100 and $150. To caculate what your cost will be, you can login into www.vsp.com and find out what your allowance is. Take the allowance and subtract your fitting cost (if you used a vsp provider for your contact fitting). Then take the cost of the boxes from what's remaining. The difference will be your cost. The cost of the boxes depend on the brand and where you get the from. A chain or independent retailer can set their own prices.

  • Generally a pair of D&G glasses would cost around $150-$200 . If you are not sure ,you can go to their official site to find the price of the one you like .General vision insurance may provide a certain amount of dollar for the purchase of eyeglasses . Example $250 frame only (no lenses), insurance will allow for $110 frame, you have to pay $140 by yourself .

  • If you have already have your prescription within 2 years, you don't need to have your eyes examined again. And for the insurance, you can have your eye exam and glasses or contacts, but you have to pay more compared without having insurance. {answer} Of course you can have an eye exam without medical insurance , you just need to pay the money by yourself.

  • If you want to get cheap contacts with insurance, first make sure the coverage of your mom's insurance. Then you can go to the place that have the insurance covered. If you have got the perscription when you get the first examination for your glasses, then you can buy contacts at costco. It's always cheap there. Don't buy it online because it tends to be more expensive and you can't get your right size of the lenses.

  • The Air Force will pay for you to have Lasik Surgery, but you have to pay for the money to the specified medical center at first, then apply for fee of reimbursement, BTW, the lodging fee should be your own responsibility.

  • Some of the insurance would cover the lasik surgery, but at present, most LASIK suegeries are not fully covered by any insurance. Ask your insurance company if it is available, if so, you should pay the full amount to the lasik ceter first and then they will give you a receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • There are NO health insurance policies that include vision. maybe welfare is a kind of health insurance, but you should buy it in order to enjoy the benifits. Why not buy eyeglasses online, which is much cheaper, the prices are almost 40%-50% lower than that in optical stores.
