  • The first best option is to use distilled water C this is water that consists only of H2O and it is free from bacteria. If this is not available the second best thing that you can get is saline C which is a mixture of salt and water. If neither of these are available C most likely isnt C your next best thing is to prepare distilled salt water yourself. Storing your contact lenses in a solution like this is easy but it does take some time to prepare. source :http://www.healthforworld.com/how-to-temporarily-store-your-contact-lenses-without-proper-solutions

  • Usually you can keep your contact lenses till they come to expire. Some unopened contact lenses can be kept for 30 days and some other ones can be kept for a really long time.It just depends what type of lenses you get. You'd better go to your eye doctor to have them checked.

  • Such an obvious thing may not be that obvious to everyone after all. Contact lenses can and should be worn with sunglasses. As the contact lenses fix the vision, power is no longer needed in sunglasses. There is no problem in ”wearing two pair of glasses on top of each other” as some people see it. I may ask from those wondering this issue if contact lenses are bothering you when you look through the wind shield of your car while driving? Maybe the comparison is not the best one, but it well illustrates that there is no problem in wearing both sunglasses and contact lenses. With contact lenses, many people can for the first time freely select their sunglasses. You don’t need to think what kind of frames your lenses are suitable for. • Yeah. You do need an eye exam when you get new contacts. The prescription is not always the same and it's valid only for some specific period of time. So don't worry they don't try to rip you off.

  • Generally the guarantee period for contacts which have not been opened is 3 years , but it can vary from different manufactures .If your prescription keeps the same during the period ,you can still wear them . But if you wear monthly or yearly disposable contacts , no matter how many times you wear , you should abandon them when it reaches their scheduled date .

  • You should refresh water in the case to keep them clean and from drying up. I keep my lenses in the cases for weeks too and then use them when i need them. Usually you can store your contact lens in the case for up to 30 days, but the case must be changed every 3 months.

  • As long as you change the water often to keep them wet, you can keep your contacts in your case for months without a problem. But the limit time should be within date.

  • You can get them from some online stores which don't need the copy of prescription but I will not recommend it .An eye exam is needed before wearing contacts because the doctor will check whether you are irritating to the contacts and the curvature of the cornea are suitable for wearing contacts . He will make sure your eyes are healthy and you don't have any problems with dry eyes and allergies. He also need to teach you how to put them in, take them out, clean them and take care of them .Also you should see that on every contact lens container saying "Federal law prohibits dispensing without a written prescription."

  • Most of the contact solution have smells which are similar to that of eye drops. Different types of different solution have different smells. So it is normal to have that smell.
