  • I don't know the reason why they have such a policy. Maybe different place have different policies. If so, find a different place to see an eye doctor and do not patronize this business any more.If the related law do have some rules that the eye doctor cannot refuse to give you the prescription once your exam is complete, you can accuse him.

  • If you are qualified to wear contacts, the eye doctor will give you a test to get your prescription of your contact lenses. Then they will make your contact lenses according to your prescription.

  • The power of contacts can be calculated from that of glasses. Here is a formula :Fo=Fs/(1-dFs).The Fo means your power of your contacts and Fs means the power of glasses.dFs means the distance between rear vertex of glasses and your cornea.Usually the dFs should be measured by meter and it is 0.012m for easterners. For example, the RX of glasses is -4.00,the dFs is 0.012m,we can know that your RX for contacts should be -3.82,but this result is not a regular RX,so we choose the proximal and a lower number , it should be -3.75 . Hope these can help. But even if you can make out the RX,you still need an eye exam for contacts.

  • Usually there are a large amount of contacts in stock and you can get your contacts the same day as you have your eye exam. If the contacts you want to get are out of stock, it will take you 2 or 3 days to get them back.

  • I never heard that the insurance has something to do with the eye doctor. You should go to ask your optician.

  • I think the eye doctor cannot tell whether you take care of your contacts or not. But in order to avoid infection, you should wash your hands befor handling them. And you shouldn't sleep with the contacts in your eyes. If your eye get infected, it can cause serious problems.

  • You don't have to buy your contacts or glasses from your eye doctor. I can just get the prescription, and then shop around for the cheapest one.

  • I know some eye doctors may give your prescription only if you have paid the fee for the eye exam.If so,you can take your prescription to any cheaper places to get your glasses.

  • know little about specsavers .maybe you can try other brands.there are so many options you can choose from online . Just take a little effort to select your favourite one .

  • $300 dollars ? Are you kidding me ? Almost more expensive than a designer pair ! Your doctor definitely wanted to get benefits from you . Of course you can get it cheaper somewhere else . Getting it from online stores is a good choice . I know Firmoo does very well in computer glasses and most of them are under $60 . you can have a try .
