Uptown Vision does not stand behind their products. The frames of the glasses I purchased broke around the eye while I was wearing them. Several of the employees are condescending. I recommend using another optometrist

  • I think its better to go to an actual eye doctor. That would probably be the better experience. And you can also get glasses there, but it may be cheaper to get them someplace else.

  • You could try this link http://www.firmoo.com/eyecare-directory/ There you could find the place where you can have a free exam in phoenix arizon.

  • I don't know what country you are in but, in the US, they have to provide it if you ask (not sure if it must be free of charge), but most places just give you a copy if you ask. Generally, it is good for 2 years from date of eye exam. They probably will NOT give it over the phone as the risk of an error is pretty high. When you get it, before leaving, look at it and make sure you can read/understand it; ask if necessary. In the US, doctors have to give you the copy of your prescription if you can provide the evidence that you have done the eye exam right there before. But I am not sure if it is free of charge. Make sure you can read and understand the prescription before leaving the office. Just get the prescription by yourself, not to simply call on phones.

  • I guess maybe the procedure is different ? A comprehensive eye exam includes Visual acuity tests,Color blindness test Cover test,Retinoscopy,Refraction,Autorefractors and aberrometers,Slit-lamp examination,Glaucoma test (tonometry),Pupil dilation,Visual field test.

  • It is necessary and essential for you to have eyes examniation before purchasing eyeglasses so that they can choose the most suitable eyeglasses for you .Lenscrafters is not the only place accept medical. Many online stores sell prescription glasses .you can have an cheap exam in your nearby place and buy your glasses online which can save you a lot .

  • yes ,the contact lens exam is just an eye exam plus contact fitting. Since you have done the regular eye exam ,the same part will not be repeated and you just need to test the parameters of the lenses required for you.

  • The price varies from place to place .what I know In New York City is: Contact Lens exam: $125(sperical Rx) - $ 175(astigmatic Rx, gas permeable lenses , etc) Eye Exam : $75 Emergency visit : $55 VF/DFE/Fundus Photos: $20 each.

  • It's the same with that for regular contacts because the eye doctor won't know your prescription before they take the eye exam for you. That means no matter you have prescription or not, the work of eye doctor will be the same.

  • it all depends on your age and type of eye problem. IF you are still young , it is better to get an eye exam every year since your eyesight is changing to make sure you get the right prescription. But if you are over 30s or older, you can have a check every 2 years. but being safe is better than none.
