Cataract refers to the cloudying and opacity of the lens in human eyes. It can gradually impair the vision for the light could hardly travel through the opacity. It is the leading cause of blindness so far. For people with cataract, if it impaired the vision seriously which impacted the daily life activities, the surgery is recommended. During the surgery, the cloudy part would be removed out, so that vision can be restored. You can understand that the cataract surgery is to retore the vision. After the surgery, you can find that your vision is much clearer, but it is not a refractive surgery. If you have myopia or hyperopia, cataract can do nothing on this aspect.
