Guy, of course sunglasses can help us to protect our eyes. Don' t you know that sunglasses can prevent ultraviolet rays from the sun? Ultraviolet rays can definitely harm our skin and sometimes they even increase the risk of getting a skin cancer. That is why a lot of people choose to wear sunglasses or apply some lotion to themselves before they go out. Furthermore, you should know that strong sunlight can also filter out the radioactive light waves which are extremely bad for your eyes. Don' t ignore this, your eyes are fragile, you should try your best to protect them.

Yes. Sunglasses can shield eyes. It is said the sunglasses lenses filter the harmful UV rays in the sun so as to keep eye health. Now, it is commonly believed that long time exposure to the sunshine (with UV rays) can contribute to cataracts. From this point, wearing sunglasses in the sun is necessary. Besides, wearing sunglasses can give us better vision when we stay in the intensive sunshine because the sunglasses lenses can reduce the strong sunshine. You can feel this benefit as long as you wearing sunglasses in the sun.

People adapt their pupils under sunlights, but damage will be done when the sunlight is beyond a person's adjusting capability. Sunglasses shield away the ultraviolet which harms retina when it enters the eyes. What's more, sunglasses reduce the discomfort of glare and strong light and increase visual clarity. Lastly, sunglasses can also make you see better by changing the contrast of colors.

As you probably already know, sunglasses provide protection from ultraviolet rays in sunlight. UV rays can cause serious damage to the corneas, and a good pair will shield 100% of these rays. A protective coating on the outside of sunglasses acts as a kind of filter. While it allows light through, it helps to filter out the radioactive light waves that can lead to so many dangers to your eyes.

Sunglasses can stand in the way of uncomfortable glare and protect your eyes from UV rays because of metal powder filters. But different varieties and colors have their own different principles of protecting our eyes. For example, polarized sunglasses are used for reflective road problem , and it can reduce light transmission, because vibrations of the light parallel to the road can't through this kind of sunglasses. And the different color eyeglasses also work in different way. Pink lenses can absorb 95% of ultraviolet light and some relatively short wavelengths of visible light, and the yellow lenses can absorb 100% of ultraviolet light and most of blue light.

It depends on the sunglasses quality. You need a special facilities to filter the dangerous lights from the sun, which are certified for visual use. I mean, they can block the sun and protect your eyes, by a special coating that locks UV light. But you may get a pair of sunglasses without ability to protect your eyes because there is a relatively poor law system to enforce the quality of the sunglasses on the market, even if it costs you a lot of money. Further, your may suffer gradually retinal burns if the sunglasses fail to filter the invisible infra-red or ultra-violet radiation with dangerous amount. Well, the high quality eyeglasses products will reduce the sunlight to a comfortable level and the heat so that you eyes feel better in intensive lights.
