Can sunlight really damage your eyes after an eye exam if your eyes were dilated and you didn't wear shades?

If you received drops to dilate your eyes for the ophthalmoscopy (eye exam), your vision will be blurred. Can sunlight damage your eyes if you don't wear dark sunglasses or shades to protect your eyes (to avoid discomfort from the glare of snow and sun) until the dilation wears off?

Yes. You mustn't look at the sun at any point, or it will damage your eyes.
