There are many kinds of food that are good for eyesight. Carrots are rich in Vitamin A and beta carotene which is quite needed in maintaining the surface lining in your eyes. Cold water fish like sardine, cod and tuna contains a large amount of omega-3 fatty acids and DHA that are important for the cell-membranes structure. People take them to alleviate dry eyes and to improve eye sight. Leafy greens are the rich source of carotenoid and lutein which protect the macula (in the center of the retina) from the harm caused by sunlight. Eggs have the advantage of preventing the formation of cataract. Nuts and seeds contain abundant zinc that is indispensable to retina function. Besides, more fruits and vegetables should be included in the diet.

People had better take in more calcium, zinc, ferrum, proteins, vitamins, and so on and so forth. To supplement the nutritions mentioned above, you can eat the following foods. Cod-liver oil is a very good and common supplement for eyes, and you can have one or two pills each time, two or three times a day. Besides, eggs and milk are also good for your eyesight, which are rich in proteins, mineral salt, vitamins and the essential amina-acids that are effective in protecting your eye muscles, retina, sclera and the optic nerves and other optic organism and enhance the power of ciliaris and the tenacity of sclera. In addition, you should eat more fresh vegetables and fruits which are abundant in multifarious vitamins, such as vitamin A, E, and C, all of which are good for your eye health.
