If you are suffering from pink eye, the primary symptom is that your eye appears red and bloodshot. There are three types of pink eyes and each has some other symptoms, among which viral and bacterial pinkeye are contagious and spread easily. Viral pink eye caused by a common respiratory virus has such symptoms as redness in the white of the eye, the swelling eyelids, itching or burning feeling of the eyelids, tearing a lot, sensitivity to light. Bacterial pink eye appears when bacteria enter the eye or ocular area, with the symptoms as redness in the white of the eye, a sticky and yellow discharge in the corner of the eye and swelling of the upper eyelid. As for the allergic pink eye caused by the allergens, it is usually accompanied by intense itching, tearing and swelling of the eye membranes.
