Many people have mild astigmatism. Mild astigmatism may be asymptomatic. So if you are just the mild astigmatism, don't worry about that. Many people can work without a pair of prescription. But higher degrees of astigmatism may lead to blurry vision, asthenopia, squinting, fatigue, or even headaches. Study has found that there are links between astigmatism and higher prevalence of migraine headaches.

Like nearsightedness and farsightedness, astigmatism is a refractive error, meaning it is not an eye disease or eye health problem; it's simply a problem with how the eye focuses light. In an eye with astigmatism, light fails to come to a single focus on the retina to produce clear vision.
