Pink eye can be called conjunctivitis. It is a highly contagious eye disease especially when people are in close contact with each other. I suggest you to stay at home for several days with the treatment your doctor prescribed. You can return to your work place after your symptoms get better. If your eyes didn't continue to tear or produce discharges, and you cannot see the red in your eyes, which means your symptoms are improved.

Some kinds of pink eye will go away in three to seven days, but some need treatment. So I suggest you to see the eye doctor first. It is not difficult to avoid being infected by pink eye. As a patient, you must wash your hand after touching the eyes, which can minimize the spread of the disease. As a healthy person, you must wash your hands too. You can use antibacterial hand sanitizer or wash your hands with soap. You must get yourself away from the area which has allergens. Remember that avoid touching your eyes directly is very important. Do not share towels, pillows, washcloths, glasses, eye drops, with others especially when he or he is a patient.
