Continue extended digital device using time will damage our eyes with their blue light exposure. It's a type of light that gives off a blue color. Blue light is harmful because of its high energy wavelength of visible light. This energy is also able to penetrate all the way to the back of the eye, through the eyes' natural filters. The amount of blue light exposure that we get each day through digital device use and with this exposure increasing over time, we are actually causing permanent damage to our eyes. But unlike digital eye strain, the effects of blue light are cumulative and can lead to eye diseases like macular degeneration.

Blue light is a color that is also found within natural light. However, its wavelength is extremely close to ultra-violet rays, which are harmful to the eyes and body, and it also has a high amount of energy. Hence, it is said that blue light is able to pass the cornea and crystalline lens of the eye without being absorbed, and can end up reaching the retina, which can cause it to deteriorate. There also concerns that exposure to blue light for long periods of time can have a detrimental effect on the eyes.

Blue light can cause damage to the Retina. Blue light is present in regular sun light, as well as in office environments such as computer screens generate Blue light and in select industrial applications.Even though blue light is nothing new, the biggest issue is the amount of blue light exposure that we get each day through digital device use. With this exposure increasing over time, we are actually causing permanent damage to our eyes. But unlike digital eye strain, the effects of blue light are cumulative and can lead to eye diseases like macular degeneration.
